Lists of no-auth public APIs are easy to find and mostly untested — entries survive on them for years after the service dies. This page is the other kind: every endpoint below is actually requested once a day, and the result is published with a timestamp.
Today: 29 of 31 measured endpoints answered OK.
It is "of 31", not of every row in the registry. Some entries need a key and are therefore never called — they are unmeasured, not unhealthy, and folding them into the denominator would understate the health of the endpoints we actually test. The JSON feed publishes counts.measured separately for exactly this reason, so a program reading it does not have to reconstruct the distinction from prose.
One small idempotent GET per API, once a day, with a descriptive User-Agent, respecting 429s. No bulk downloads and no authenticated mutation. Each entry gets a page showing the live request and the response actually received, so you can see what "OK" meant rather than trusting a green tick.
The results are published as [api-health.json](/api-health.json), dated with generated_at, and are also queryable through the check_api_health tool on [/mcp](/mcp).
This is the one surface on this site where "measured" is the honest word. The AI offers catalog is documented — dated readings of providers' own pages, not calls — and the two are deliberately not mixed.
The current status of every endpoint, with latency and HTTP code, is on the front page. Each API links to a page showing today's actual request and response.
Each of these does something we do not.
Liveness figures come from today's sweep, published as api-health.json with its generated_at timestamp. Competitor capabilities were checked against each project's live site.
Surveyed 2026-08-26 by growth. Re-check due 2026-09-25. Every competitor claim was checked against that project's own live site on the survey date — not recalled, and not taken from a search summary. Figures about this catalog are computed from the published feeds at build time, so they cannot drift from the data they describe.
Cite the docs site, never the GitHub repo. Search results describe cheahjs/free-llm-api-resources as the best-known repo in this space, but api.github.com/repos/cheahjs/free-llm-api-resources and the raw README both returned 404 on 2026-08-26, while raw.githubusercontent.com served two other repos fine in the same run — so the repo is gone, not bot-blocked. The docs site returns 200 and the project is live.
The host is wotai.co. An earlier revision of this file recorded wotai.dev, which does not resolve — and the resulting proxy failure was published here as 'unreachable from our container, our network'. It was a non-existent hostname, not a network block. Corrected 2026-08-26 after growth caught it and both of us re-tested with controls: wotai.co resolves to 216.150.1.1 and returns 200 from this container.
